Enhancing Lives through the power of Football

Every person whose life is improved or saved, stems from an act of generosity that’s purely voluntary. That’s why donating is so extraordinary when you do it.

About us

AC Wollaton Charity are a unique charity football team whose sole objective is to raise vital funds for all charitable causes, with a particular focus on children with limited life expectancy . Our revenue is predominately generated by holding monthly charity football matches with established football clubs throughout Nottingham and the UK.

We now have a catchment of players in excess of 190, all varying in ability and ages. More importantly everyone of them have played some part in our games. During matches our aim is to use 22 players, that basically means one team for the first half and another for the second. Everyone plays and everyone contributes. AC Wollaton is primarily an adult football team split between a first team and a vets team. We try to keep this balanced so everyone takes part regardless of age.

Additionally we have our sponsored Ghost Busting team. Our brave volunteers are themselves sponsored to go Ghost Hunting in various infamous haunted buildings, with professional paranormal investigators and record their findings. We’ve had some amazing stuff come out this and it’s certainly a thrilling experience!

The activities we undertake are exciting and fun filled, but most of all fulfilling. Our doors are open to everyone whether it’s playing football, being a superhero for the afternoon or being a Ghost Buster during the evening. Our overriding objective is to help and support the sick and vulnerable during difficult times.

Angels

We call anyone who plays, contributes or just supports us in anyway “Angels” because that’s what they are Angels!

Nottingham University Hospital

Thank you to everyone who donated! We were in shock at how much you have all achieved, It took myself and a colleague pretty much all day to organise the presents, ready to wrap up on Thursday! The children are going to be over the moon and their smiles will be priceless!
I’m so sorry that the ‘super heroes’ couldn’t meet the children in person this year due to the hospital’s new Covid rules. I know it is something they very much look forward to when I tell them that Spider Man, Batman and the rest are coming to visit.
Hopefully next year things will be different and we will have a Christmas that will outdo every single one we have had before!
Merry Christmas everyone and thank you again!!

Duchenne UK

“Thank you so much for your generous donation of £7500 to Duchenne UK raised by AC Wollaton. As
a lean charity we are extremely grateful for all your support. Please do pass along our deepest
thanks to all those who have contributed. With your support and the money raised we have the
power to follow our vision: to advance research and get treatments into the clinic and to patients as
quickly as possible to benefit this generation.”
